Journalism That Matters

While much of journalism is about celebrity scandals and other meaningless things, there are still many examples of journalism that makes a real difference. One example is the Los Angeles Times coverage of pay and corruption scandals in Bell. These stories have led to the recall of nearly the entire city council and placing the former city manager on trial. And for Bell, maybe the city's tax money will begin to be spent on things that benefit the local citizens. NPR reports.
